Student-Athlete Government Program
The Athletic Department proudly supports a Student-Athlete Government Program, designed to give student-athletes a voice, promote leadership development, and strengthen
communication between teams, coaches, and administration.
This program empowers student-athletes to take an active role in shaping the athletic experience by representing their teams, sharing feedback, and helping guide decisions that impact athletic culture, academic success, and community engagement. Members of the Student-Athlete Government serve as leaders, role models, and ambassadors for the athletic program, upholding the values of accountability, sportsmanship, and integrity.
Through regular meetings and collaboration with athletic administrators, the Student-Athlete Government Program addresses key issues such as academic support, team welfare, campus involvement, and athletic initiatives. It also encourages unity across all sports, fostering a culture of respect, responsibility, and shared purpose.
“Our goal is to develop leaders, not just athletes,” said the Head Coach/Athletic Director. “The Student-Athlete Government Program gives our student-athletes a voice and teaches them accountability, leadership, and service—qualities that will carry them far beyond competition.”
By participating in this program, student-athletes gain valuable leadership experience, develop communication and organizational skills, and learn the importance of service—preparing them for success both on and off the field. The Student-Athlete Government Program reflects the athletic department’s commitment to developing champions in competition, in the classroom, and in life.
