Knights Defense Leads the Way in Victory Over Myrtle Beach Prep

CCC Georgia Knights Defeat Myrtle Beach Prep Marauders Behind Strong Defensive Performance

The Community Christian College Georgia Knights came away with a hard-fought victory over the Myrtle Beach Prep Marauders, with the Knights leaning heavily on their rushing attack and a defense that delivered a dominant performance when it mattered most.

The Knights were led offensively by Demetrius Williams, who established himself in the running game as CCC Georgia struggled to find its rhythm through the air. With the passing game unable to consistently get on track, Williams and the Knights' ground attack provided the production needed to keep the offense moving.

But it was the Knights defense that set the tone for the game.

CCC Georgia repeatedly came up with stops when the Marauders threatened, keeping Myrtle Beach Prep from finding any consistency offensively. The Knights' defense battled throughout the game and produced a scoreless defensive performance, refusing to allow the Marauders to find the end zone.

The only points allowed by the Knights came on an interception return for a touchdown, as Elijah Burrell's interception was returned for a pick-six. Outside of that play, the Marauders were unable to capitalize offensively or put together a scoring drive.

For the Knights, the victory was another opportunity to continue developing a team that is looking toward the second half of the season.

Coach Roach: "We Didn't Play Clean"

Head Coach Cedric Roach made it clear following the game that while he was pleased with the victory, the Knights still have plenty of work to do.

"We didn't play clean. We didn't play clean at all."

Coach Roach emphasized that the game provided an opportunity to continue building depth throughout the roster. With the Knights working toward the second half of the season, several second- and third-string players were given meaningful opportunities to compete and gain valuable experience.

"We left a lot of our second- and third-string guys in to give them an opportunity to build depth as we try to get to the second part of our season."

The goal now is not simply to celebrate the win, but to use the experience to become a more complete football team.

Next Up: Jacksonville Community Christian College

The Knights now turn their attention to their next opponent, Jacksonville Community Christian College.

With the second half of the season approaching, CCC Georgia knows the margin for error becomes smaller. The focus this week will be on correcting mistakes, improving execution and making sure all three phases of the game are operating at a high level.

Coach Roach's message is simple:

"Now our focus has to be on Jacksonville Community Christian College and going through that game making sure that we're sharp offensively, defensively and on special teams."

The Knights have another opportunity ahead of them—and the standard remains the same.

Get better. Get sharper. Build depth. Prepare for the next one.

Go Knights!
