Georgia Knights Battle but fall short to Daytona CCC
The Georgia Knights battled hard in their season opener but ultimately came up short against Daytona CCC. Despite a slow start, the Knights showed resilience and began to find their rhythm as the game went on. Head Baseball Coach Eddie Phelps was proud of how his team was able to fight after starting slow at the beginning of the game.
“1st game of season. We came out a little sluggish, and Pitchers got us in a hole with a lot of walks. Afterwards guys got their feet up under them, and we started to play some good baseball. Didn't get the result we wanted in the end, but I saw a lot of good things that will definitely make us better today. Looking forward to a good inaugural season from the guys."
Georgia Knights fought back and competed until the final out but couldn’t overcome the early deficit. The Knights will have a quick turnaround as they face Daytona CCC again on February 21st in a doubleheader, looking to bounce back.
